Thanksgiving

Tuesday night found us in a local bar, ABC, The Tavern, my favorite type of place. It was a fun night with a friendly bartender, who told us, as we settled in, of other places to visit, one of which was another tavern, the Rowley Inn, which just happened to be across from the house where A Christmas Story was filmed, now a museum of sort.

Important to us, besides it being a terrific movie, was that when a friend, who turned us onto the movie, married, we gave them a Red Rider BB Gun as a wedding present. Seeing the looks on the faces of the other - older - guests was perfect. A gun for a present?!? The answer to that is, you bet, at least in our crowd.

It was a great holiday. Lounging and talking, eating out, seeing the traditional movie (Wicked), playing cards and, of course, eating our traditional turkey day dinner of beef brisket, biscuits, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts all while the two pups played made for a relaxing and fun trip.

We made new memories even as we remembered other memories.
