Faith, Hope, and Love

I wrote to a friend that my newest album of choice, Saturday Night Sermon by Yarn, is "best I can tell, a celebration and redemption of life through music." It is the third album by Yarn I've loved since I've started following them. The lyrics are as good as ever while it's also the best dance album yet. I can hardly not move listening to it! Whether a revival of love of music and dance or a revival of the love of life, it's great.

The same goes for the book I just finished, Theo of Golden. Theo, clearly an old man (we're told he's 86) who is also a rich man, is using his time in Golden (close to a year), a fictional southern town in Georgia, to share joy with the people he meets. An easy read, I found myself wishing it could be true, but alas, it is only a novel. It, too, was a celebration of life through music and art, and love, love of mankind. It was wonderful, leaving me wishing that each who reads it becomes a bit more loving and giving.
